University of Wisconsin Classes - Spring 2008 semester
The Steaming Cup is very proud and excited to announce that they are able to offer classes to UWW students this coming spring semester. All classes are held at the shop! That makes it so easy and convenient to create the atmoshpere of learning, conversation and comfort. Plan to sign up early next semester!!!

TEA 101 offered Tuesday Feb 19th, 2008 filled up with 25 students tasting 13 teas
Civilized, soothing, delicious and relaxing – tea offers an ideal refuge from the fast pace and stressful demands of our lives today. But with the astonishing array of teas currently available, how do you find a cup you can really call your own? As you sip and savor the wonderful flavors of black teas, green teas, oolongs, mate and scented/herbal teas, you’ll understand why tea is consumed by more people worldwide than any other drink except water. COFFEE AROUND THE WORLD offered Tuesday Feb 26th, 2008 9 students 8 coffees
Coffee – a drink, a culture, an experience! We all explored coffee options available. Look at diverse coffees that make coffee a great experience in so many different parts of the world. We sampled Dutch, Mexican fruit coffee, some students helped make Turkish coffee in a small ibrik. The Puerto Rican coffee was made in a more traditional manner withot a coffee pot, just a pan on the stove. Everything we made was discussed in a manner that everyone could duplicate at home. We closed with a sugary, chocolate Brazilian coffee that had the students wondering what activity really complements that coffee(inside joke!). We met at The Steaming Cup, 340 W. Main Street in Waukesha.
WORLD OF TEA offered Tuesday March 4th, 2008 held 21 students in the new TeaRoom
While tasting some great varieties of black and green tea, students discussed the positions that tea and tea ceremony over the years. We talked about Japanese, Chinese and Arabian ceremony diversity. This class let the student understand some of the variations that exist in English Tea while we sampled some of the new recipes that will be offered at The SpringHouse TeaRoom. We all sampled a South American mate blend and looked at the mate experience and gourds. Even tho' the class was held in the new tearoom adjoining The Steaming Cup, it still isn't done being built.
