VALENTINE's AND TEARS TEND TO CHANGE THINGS!
What? What could we mean by that? Well let me tell you a story....A couple weeks ago, during a little warm up, the tears that fall from the sky tried so very hard to come to tea. We resisted to the best of our ability with catch buckets all over the back tearoom. We failed, as the tears from above poured through from above. But all is not lost. No product damage, no tea lost, just a wall (drywall) that got soaked and needs replacement. So the wall has now been removed and we are waiting for the drying to be complete before they throw up the new drywall.
So we asked ourselves, "Does this mean we close the TeaRoom for our Valentine's Day event?" We took no less than a second to form the response of "No tea-NO WAY!"
So we are offering scones for the first time in the coffeeshop while the workers slowly clean up the water damage. We are offering as shown below....please stop by!

WAUKESHA'S SPRING HOUSE TEA ROOM
Sounds to us like the name itself continues
our respect for Waukesha's historical roots. Waukesha became known for
it's magical water in the 1860's. The famous Waukesha water can now
restore your vitality as you experience our unique style of tea service.
913
Clinton Street, the former office of the Waukesha Business Improvement
District, is the site for our elegant new tea room. Terry & Kerry
Mackay, who have built a thriving business in The Steaming Cup, have
turned their efforts to another grand venture. The new tearoom echoes
the same food value and quality while it expands on the satisfying
atmosphere for which The Steaming Cup has already gained notoriety.
AFTERNOON
TEA
As of January 2010, we have held 103 tea events.
We specialize in afternoon teas. An afternoon tea should combine both
sweets, savories and desserts. Tea sandwiches and/or quiche are the
perfect accompaniments for a beautiful presentation of small sweets
such as dipped fruits, delicate cookies, special dessert bars or sweet
chocolate delights.
Of course, you must have fresh scones accompanied
by cream and preserves. Scone portions should be small if other foods are served. It is much better
to serve several small, beautiful foods rather than large portions.
After all, the real purpose of afternoon tea is to satisfy the soul rather
than the stomach! But that has not stopped us from making sure that
all participants leave fully satisfied!
TEA
ITSELF
The most important element that we plan to bring to Waukesha is
the tea. We will offer a choice of loose teas made in serious tea pots.
There are so many teas to try these days. For an impromptu tea, you can just stop in The Steaming Cup where they have access to our 120+ tea selections. Half the fun of afternoon tea
is discovering a new tea or a delicious blend. Taste the tea first
before adding sugar, lemon or milk. Adding something to tea before you
taste it is like salting your food before you try it. Pay homage to the
tea blender by tasting your tea first.
